Jesse Cook

Jesse Arnaud Cook is a Canadian guitarist, composer, and producer. Widely considered one of the most influential figures in "nouveau flamenco" (new flamenco) music, he incorporates elements of flamenco rumba, jazz & many forms of world music into his work.

Tempest

Tempest is the debut album by the New Flamenco artist Jesse Cook. The lineup included Cook on guitars, palmas, synthesizers, djembe, and additional percussion, Mario Melo on congas, percussion, and palmas, Blake Manning on darbuka, timbali, and Andrew Morales on electric bass, palmas. A substantial part of the album's publicity was gained after the tracks "Tempest and Breeze" from Saintes Maries were used by a local Ontario cable TV operator as background music for their TV program listing channel. The tracks were played in a loop for many months, "growing" on many viewers to the point they called the cable operator to inquire about it.

Free Fall is the fourth studio album by the New Flamenco artist Jesse Cook. Musicians vary by track, including Jesse Cook, Art Avalos, Mario Melo, Paul Antonio, Etric Lyons, Steven Greenman, Ron Allen, Rick Shadrach Lazar, Djivan Gasparyan, George Gao, Ron Allen, Kathleen Kajioka, Nancy Cardwell, Danny Wilde, Peter Cardinali, and Kevin Laliberte. "Fall At Your Feet" has a live performance of "Mario Takes a Walk" appended to it. The album was certified Platinum by the CRIA in October 2001.

Cook pairs with Danny Wilde for a cover of the Crowded House hit "Fall at Your Feet".

Frontiers

Frontiers is the sixth studio album by Jesse Cook. According to Cook's official web page, inspiration for the album came from a "temporary move with his wife to Seville, Spain" and the birth of his first child, Lucas Cook (b. March 14, 2005). Cook and nine other musicians recorded the album at Coach House Music in Canada. The album was mixed by Cook. All songs were written by Jesse Cook except "It Ain't Me Babe", which is a cover version of the original song by Bob Dylan, and La Llorona, a traditional Mexican folk song.
